Vac Truck Operator
Forest Contractors Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Vac Truck Driver to join our team. The Vac Truck Driver will be responsible for operating vacuum trucks to safely and efficiently remove, transport, and dispose of materials, such as liquids, sludge, or debris, from various sites. The ideal candidate must prioritize safety, maintain the vehicle in optimal working condition, and comply with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Vac Truck: Safely operate and drive the vacuum truck to various job sites to remove materials, including waste, liquids, and other debris.
- Site Preparation: Ensure the site is prepared for vacuum operations, including setting up hoses, operating the vacuum system, and ensuring environmental safety protocols are followed.
- Material Transportation: Safely transport collected materials to designated disposal or treatment facilities, following all applicable transportation and disposal regulations.
- Maintenance and Inspection: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vacuum truck to ensure it is in proper working order. Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the maintenance team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of jobs completed, including job sites, materials collected, and disposal details. Complete all required paperwork, including daily logs and reports.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all company and industry safety standards, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe driving and operating practices.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients on-site to ensure all job requirements are understood and met.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: AZ or DZ with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience driving a vacuum truck or similar heavy-duty vehicle is required.
- Safety Certifications: Relevant safety certifications, such as WHMIS, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), or other applicable certifications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, working outdoors, and handling equipment.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding of local transportation, disposal, and environmental regulations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in completing documentation and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
